Construction Procurement Specialist:

Centurion Land Group (CLG) is a leading single family developer in Florida. The role of the Construction Procurement Manager is to manage all aspects of a supply chain and logistics. The Construction Procurement Manager is responsible for purchasing all the necessary materials for the planned development which consists of 12 homes. This role will be responsible to review all take-offs to create a detailed schedules of when the materials are needed, searching for the most cost-effective and appropriate materials for each job. The procurement manager also ensures the materials arrive on time and within budget. That’s no small feat in the construction world because prices on construction materials can fluctuate widely and with little warning. The procurement managers also negotiates with suppliers and vendors for better prices, service and delivery deals. A procurement manager requires a certain set of skills to perform well.

When handling complex construction projects, a construction procurement specialist must be adept at juggling all the moving parts of the job and overcoming daily challenges. How well they perform can have a significant impact on each construction project’s cost savings and profitability.

Construction Procurement Specialist - Position Responsibilities:

Responsible for coordinating with site supervisors, field teams and office staff to source, purchase and deliver materials to construction projects. This includes :

Acting as a point of contact between the company and suppliers
Compare, source, order, schedule delivery of materials, process purchase orders, work orders.
Maintain and manage plans, specifications, cost, and material estimates, subcontract, and related reports
Establish, monitor, and initiate updates to, construction work schedules
Coordinates tracking and control of project related materials utilizing project reporting tools
Maintains and updates all change orders for proper record keeping and reporting
Performs invoice reporting and compliance for assigned contractors
Coordinate with Superintendents and team to perform assigned tasks.
Make certain returns are processed timely to capture refunds and credits
Monitor and update relevant departments regarding price fluctuations of goods, vendor pricing and product availability (backorders)
Track material expenses for change orders and report cost to project coordinator
Negotiate pricing, contracts, terms and deadlines with vendors and suppliers
Work closely with vendors and project coordinators to ensure that we are capturing all discounts, rebates and are overall getting the most competitive pricing considering our purchasing volume.
Manage an efficient flow of goods to ensure optimum production
Identify potential suppliers based on project requirements
As applicable, oversee warehouse inventory, stocking material, restocking excess material, resourcing inventory to maximize material cost savings.
Construction Procurement Specialist :Requirement

5 years min. experience
Working Conditions: 40 hours per week, may be required to work overtime based on operational requirements. Working at office location. Possible travel to office and construction site.

Position Dimensions: Valid drivers license. Strong understanding of procurement, negotiation techniques and conflict resolution in construction sector. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional multi-tasking, organizational and documentation skills. Strong computer skills. Preferably, fluent in both English and Spanish.


Location: Miami, Florida


Pay Rate: 38.00 - 45.00
